Gallery 110 artists are presenting a series of portraits in "Descriptions" during the month of October. Portraits describe the likeness, personality, and the mood of a subject, usually an individual, in all media. Historically, politicians, royalty, and commoners were the subject matter. Today social networking sites are often being used to define personal identities and self-portraits. I am exhibiting Scanning Myself, a self portrait created using scan photography and produced as a photo encaustic, and Bride-To-Be, a camera photo collage of my daughter the night before her wedding, also a photo encaustic. Join us for First Thursday Artwalk, October 3, 6-8 PM, or anytime the gallery is open (Wed-Sat, 12-5 PM).
